Therapeutic Massage:
Massage therapy is a profession in which the practitioner applies manual techniques, and may apply adjunctive therapies, with the intention of positively affecting the health and well-being of the client.

Massage is one of the most ancient and universal of the healing arts. For thousands of years some form of massage or laying-on of hands has been used to heal and relieve pain. The sense of touch and of being touched by another caring person is of fundamental importance to our physical and emotional growth from the moment of birth, and yet the potency of this simple form of communication is often underestimated in today's world. Massage communicates care and self worth to the client, and creates awareness to (physical and personal) tension and dis-ease in the body.

Holistic Approach:

The holistic approach to massage treats the patient as a whole, rather than concentrating on physical conditions, and its movements are generally slower and more meditative. It is based on a philosophy that the body always wants to be well, and so encourages natural healing. Massage therapy which is skilfully and sensitively given generates feelings of harmonious well-being and a sense of unity in which the healing energies of the body can be released. It can also release a great deal of energy hitherto wasted in tension, and by transforming chronic habits of acting and reacting, effect a profound change on posture and facial expression.
